Regular Classes

  • PUPPY KINDERGARTEN is for dogs who are 11 weeks to 5 months old by the first day of the session. The goals of the class are to introduce fun basic training exercises that include: socialization, attention, sit, down, come, stay, walk on a loose leash. In addition , the class will cover bonding, tricks, introduction to some agility items and general manners. .
  • BEGINNING OBEDIENCE is for dogs 5 months and up. The goals of the class will emphasize: attention, basic obedience exercises sit, down, stay, come and introduction to heeling. Dogs must be controllable. All exercises are taught on lead.
  • INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE is for dogs who have some obedience training or with instructors approval. The dog should be able to heel on lead, sit, down and stay. The goals of the class are to further develop basic obedience skills: turns, timed sits, timed downs, recall, and change of pace heeling. The class will include all exercises that are on the AKC Canine Good Citizens Test. All exercises will be taught on lead.  
  • COMPETITION OBEDIENCE is for dogs who have had Basic Obedience training.  The class emphasis is towards fine tuning dogs for obedience competition.  Skill for all classes of obedience, Novice through Utility will be introduced.  All dogs must have instructor approval.  .
  • NOVICE RALLY is for dogs who have passed or can pass the Intermediate Obedience/CGC class or with instructors approval. The goals of the class are to introduce beginning Rally exercises 1 thru 31. It will include instruction on how to execute the actual rally move described at each station and how to read a course map. Mini courses will be set up for actual practice. All exercises will be taught on lead.
  • COMPETITION RALLY is for dogs who have been in novice rally or with instructors approval. The class will be taught on and off lead. Goals of the class are to present Rally Exercises 32 thru 50. Fine tuning performance skills on Exercises 1 thru 50.. Practice on different rally courses.  
  • CONFORMATION (Show)  Fee $5.  Our Conformation Classes are back on track!  Please join us at 7:00PM on the Main Lawn at the Fairgrounds.  Classes are only held on Thursdays when there are also Obedience Classes or CGC Testing!

Obedience training is a fun activity for you and your dog but it requires practice time during the week as well as class attendance. If you are willing to practice we are ready to teach you!

Class size is limited. Our classes are usually filled and closed well before the first night of class.

Please note that the minimum age for a dog handler is 12 years. Well behaved children are welcome to accompany you to class but must remain outside the training area and be under control at all times for their own safety.
